About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator who brings strong technical depth, accuracy, and field understanding to support a wide range of electrical construction and industrial projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with proven experience producing competitive, complete, and well-documented estimates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and timelines.

  • Review drawings, blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to determine installation procedures and costs.

  • Perform take-offs and develop quantity lists.

  • Draft and submit change orders.

  • Order materials and parts in coordination with procurement.

  • Support project teams from initial bid through project closeout.

  • Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and accounting to ensure estimate alignment and accurate billing.

  • Maintain communication with internal teams, customers, inspectors, and vendors.

  • Attend project meetings, staff meetings, and site inspections as needed.

  • Prepare and maintain required reports, forms, and documentation.

  • Use estimating and business software to enter, access, and analyze data.

  • Request and attend municipality inspections when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s license and proof of work authorization.

  • 5–10 years of electrical estimating experience, preferably in commercial, industrial, or heavy industrial environments.

  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) and estimating tools such as Accubid or similar platforms.

  • Understanding of electrical systems including AC/DC motors, VFDs, motor control centers, PLC systems, process control systems, and industrial electronics.

  • Familiarity with machines, tools, and equipment used in electrical installation, repair, and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe job-site practices.

  • Ability to interpret complex technical documents and specifications.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working in industrial environments such as manufacturing plants, mills, refineries, or steel service centers.

  • Industry certifications such as:

    • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE)

    • Electrical Engineering Technology certification

    • OSHA 30

    • NCCER Electrical

  • Experience with MasterBuilder or similar construction management software.

  • Prior background in both estimating and field installation/maintenance (a major plus).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs independently and carry materials short distances.

  • Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.

  • Ability to work in environments that may include heat, cold, noise, moisture, fumes, or odors.
